Thursdays on the Dock: Bards of Gungywamp at Connecticut River Museum

An evening of folk music and storytelling comes to the Connecticut River waterfront as Bards of Gungywamp performs as part of the Thursdays on the Dock concert series on Thursday, July 23, 2026, from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm. This free outdoor concert continues a beloved shoreline tradition that has entertained audiences for more than 17 years.
Hailing from southeastern Connecticut, Bards of Gungywamp blends Celtic, Bluegrass, Chanteys, Country, Cajun, and original music inspired by history and folklore. Known for their lively fiddle tunes, rich vocal harmonies, and engaging storytelling, the group brings traditional songs from centuries past together with new tales and original compositions. Since forming for a hometown St. Patrick’s Day performance, the band has traveled throughout New England and beyond, appearing at Irish pubs, festivals, Renaissance fairs, farmers markets, and other community events.
Guests are encouraged to bring a chair or blanket and enjoy an evening of live music while watching the sun set over the Connecticut River. Thursdays on the Dock remains one of the region’s premier waterfront concert experiences, offering free performances throughout July and August.
