The Wild Party at Playhouse on Park

Jazz-age glamour, passion, and danger take center stage in The Wild Party, running July 8 through August 16, 2026, at Playhouse on Park. Featuring a book, music, and lyrics by Andrew Lippa, this electrifying musical transports audiences to the roaring 1920s for a night where excess and desire spiral into chaos.

The story follows Queenie and Burrs, a troubled vaudeville couple whose volatile relationship is on the verge of collapse. Hoping to reignite their passion, they host an extravagant party in their Manhattan apartment, inviting an eclectic mix of guests for an evening of music, dancing, and indulgence. As the night unfolds, the arrival of a charismatic stranger captures Queenie’s attention, sparking jealousy and setting off a chain of events that exposes hidden secrets, tests loyalties, and leads to dramatic consequences.

Filled with unforgettable characters, sultry jazz-inspired music, and high-stakes drama, The Wild Party explores themes of love, obsession, betrayal, and the dangers of living without limits. Directed by Sean Harris, with choreography by Darlene Zoller and music direction by Colin Britt, this production brings Andrew Lippa’s acclaimed musical to life with energy and style.

Preview performances take place on July 8 and 9, with regular performances running from July 10 through August 16. Showtimes include Friday evenings at 8 pm; Saturdays at 2 pm and 8 pm; Sundays at 2 pm with cast talkbacks following matinee performances; Tuesdays at 2 pm; Wednesdays at 7:30 pm; and Thursdays at 7:30 pm. Additional morning performances at 10:30 am will be held on July 16 and July 24, with all seats priced at $25 plus a service charge.

The production runs approximately two hours with no intermission and is recommended for audiences ages 17 and older.
