Docent Tour: The Architecture of the YCBA at Yale Center for British Art

Visitors can explore the iconic architecture of the Yale Center for British Art during a docent-led tour on Sunday, June 1, 2025, at 3:00 pm in New Haven, Connecticut.

This in-depth tour highlights the celebrated design of architect Louis I. Kahn (1901–1974), whose modernist approach is showcased throughout the museum’s structure. Guests will gain insight into the building’s architectural features, innovative use of space and light, and its significance in the broader context of modern architecture.

Tours begin in the Entrance Court by the Visitor Services desk and last approximately 45 minutes. Docents bring their own unique perspectives, offering a deeper understanding of both the art and the architectural setting in which it is displayed.

The Yale Center for British Art is located at 1080 Chapel Street, New Haven, CT. Admission is free. For details, visit britishart.yale.edu or call (203) 432-2800.
