Family Craft Workshop: Connecticut Cartooning at the Connecticut Museum of Culture and History

Discover the art of comic creation during the Family Craft Workshop: Connecticut Cartooning on August 6, 2026, from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm at the Connecticut Museum of Culture and History.
Families and aspiring artists ages 8 and up are invited to explore Connecticut’s rich cartooning history while learning the fundamentals of comic storytelling. Led by local artists Jaime Alphonso, creator of the Connecticut Museum of Culture and History’s Drawn Here, and March Grabber of Transphoria and Lifeline Comics, the workshop guides participants through the comic-making process from concept to completion.
Working together, children and adults will create their own original four-panel comic while learning about the state’s connections to the cartooning industry. The workshop is designed to encourage creativity, collaboration, and artistic expression for participants of all skill levels.
Pizza and juice will be served from 5:30 pm to 6 pm, followed by the hands-on workshop from 6 pm to 7:30 pm. Registration is required, and space is limited. The program fee includes refreshments and all workshop materials.
The Connecticut Museum of Culture and History is located at 1 Elizabeth Street, Hartford, CT 06105. For more information or to register, visit https://www.connecticutmuseum.org/event/familycraftworkshopconnecticutcartooning/.
