There are lots of great New Year’s Eve events going on all across the state for families and adults alike. It doesn’t matter if you’re looking for some live music, comedy, kid-friendly fun, an elegant dinner, or something else, there’s something for everyone.

A few of our favorite events we want to highlight include:

• KidsPlay Countdown at KidsPlay Children’s Museum: Celebrate New Year’s Eve early with your little ones at KidsPlay Children’s Museum in Torrington for their biggest event of the year! On Tuesday, December 31, 2024, KidsPlay offers two fun-filled sessions packed with creativity, music, and unforgettable moments. The morning session runs from 10 am to 12:30 pm with a balloon drop at 12 pm, and the afternoon session from 2 pm to 4:30 pm with a balloon drop at 4 pm. Kids will enjoy crafting party hats and noisemakers, dancing to DJ Mark’s tunes, face painting, balloon twisting, and the exciting highlight—an unforgettable balloon drop to ring in the New Year!
• 70s Soiree at Essex Station: Step back in time and ring in the New Year 1970s style at Essex Station’s unforgettable celebration! Enjoy a nostalgic evening filled with dining, live entertainment, and a midnight champagne toast. The night begins with a groovy cocktail hour aboard vintage train cars, where guests can savor drinks and hors d’oeuvres during a festive ride. Afterward, the party moves to the beautifully decorated Dickinson Ballroom for a decadent dinner, followed by an interactive 1970s-themed murder mystery performance by the Murder Mystery Company. After solving the mystery, dance the night away to live music from Jen and Tonic, with dance leads and instruction to help you show off your best disco moves. Dress to impress in your finest disco attire—think platform shoes, wide collars, and plenty of glitter!
• New Year’s Eve Dinner & Dance Party at Water’s Edge Resort & Spa: Ring in 2025 in style at Water’s Edge Resort & Spa with an unforgettable New Year’s Eve Dinner and Dance Party! It will be a night filled with live music, a premium open bar, and a delicious four-course dinner. The evening kicks off at 7 pm with cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, followed by the spectacular dinner at 8 pm. At 9 pm, the energy ramps up with live performances from Le’Mixx and WE3Trio, setting the stage for dancing and celebration. The night culminates with a Champagne toast at midnight, ringing in the new year in grand fashion.
