Volunteer Recruiting Sessions at Lockwood-Mathews Mansion Museum

Opportunities to get involved in preserving a historic landmark will be highlighted during special volunteer recruiting sessions on May 5, 2026 from 1 pm to 4 pm and May 9, 2026 from 9 am to 12 pm at the Lockwood-Mathews Mansion Museum, 295 West Avenue, Norwalk, CT 06850.

Led by Volunteer Coordinator Robin Lynch, these orientation sessions introduce prospective volunteers to the many ways they can contribute to the museum’s mission. Participants will learn about roles in areas such as guided tours, archival work, community outreach, administration, and gift shop operations, as well as opportunities to assist with events, exhibitions, and educational programming.

The sessions include an informational tour of the mansion, light refreshments, and the chance to meet members of the museum’s board and staff. No prior experience in history is required, and both adults and youth ages 16 and up are welcome to apply. Volunteer commitments can be ongoing or project-based.

Pre-registration is required. For more information or to apply, visit lockwoodmathewsmansion.com, email info@lockwoodmathewsmansion.com, or call 203-838-9799.
