Truth, Tradition, Transformation: Celebrating a Century of Albertus Magnus College at Connecticut Museum of Culture and History

A century of history, change, and academic achievement will be explored during Truth, Tradition, Transformation: Celebrating a Century of Albertus Magnus College on June 4 from 6 pm to 7 pm at the Connecticut Museum of Culture and History.

Presented by Albertus Magnus College Interim Director of Library Services and College Archivist Catie White, the program will trace the evolution of the New Haven institution from its founding to the present day. The lecture will highlight stories spanning the Jazz Age, the Great Depression, postwar campus life in the 1950s, student activism, and the expansion of graduate programs in the 1990s, illustrating how the college has grown from an enrollment of 50 students to nearly 1,300 today.

Founded as New England’s first Catholic residential liberal arts college for women, Albertus Magnus College has played an important role in the educational and cultural history of the region for more than 100 years.

The Connecticut Museum of Culture and History is located at 1 Elizabeth Street, Hartford, CT 06105. Admission is free, though registration is requested.
