Tower of Power at Infinity Music Hall

For more than 55 years, Tower of Power has delivered some of the best funk and soul music, captivating audiences around the world. Originally formed in 1968 as The Motowns, the band took on its now-famous name after Emilio Castillo and Stephen “Doc” Kupka joined forces, creating what became known as the Oakland soul sound.
Their Warner Brothers debut, Bump City (1972), produced the hits “You’re Still a Young Man” and “Down to The Nightclub.” The 1970s cemented the group’s legacy with radio favorites like “So Very Hard to Go” and “What Is Hip?” Over the decades, Tower of Power has not only produced its own hits but also performed with music legends such as Otis Redding, Elton John, Santana, the Grateful Dead, John Lee Hooker, Aerosmith, and Bonnie Raitt.
In 2018, the band celebrated its 50th anniversary with a landmark performance at Oakland’s Fox Theater, later released as 50 Years of Funk & Soul: Live at the Fox Theater. Today, Tower of Power continues to thrill audiences with their signature grooves, vibrant horn section, and high-energy performances that remain as powerful as ever.
The concert will take place on Friday, September 5, 2025. Doors open at 7 pm and the show begins at 8 pm at Infinity Music Hall, 20 Greenwoods Road W, Norfolk, CT 06058.
