Mohegan Life on the Massapequatuck at Submarine Force Library Museum

Discover the origins of the Mohegan Tribe with the Mohegan Life on the Massapequatuck tour departing from the Submarine Force Library Museum in Groton. Guests can enjoy this immersive experience on select Saturdays, including July 19, August 23, and September 6, 2025.

This unique boat tour invites visitors to board the Thames River Heritage Park’s open-air navy utility boat to explore the shoreline and river area that the Mohegan Tribe calls home. A knowledgeable guide will share stories and insights about the tribe’s deep-rooted history along the Thames River, including views past the Submarine Base and into the peaceful estuary known as the Massapequatuck.

Each cruise departs at 12:45 pm and returns by 2:00 pm, providing 75 minutes of engaging narration and beautiful river scenery.
