Thursdays on the Dock: Eight to the Bar at Connecticut River Museum

Waterfront music returns to the Connecticut River Museum with Thursdays on the Dock featuring Eight to the Bar on Thursday, July 9, 2026, from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm. Celebrating 17 years as a shoreline tradition, this free summer concert series offers an opportunity to enjoy live music while watching the sun set over the Connecticut River.

Known for blending swing, boogie-woogie, Motown, and other American roots music styles, Eight to the Bar has earned a devoted following through its energetic performances, exceptional musicianship, and sophisticated vocal arrangements. The band has performed throughout the United States, Europe, and the Caribbean, sharing stages with artists including Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, Manhattan Transfer, Robert Cray, Roy Orbison, and Ray Charles.

Guests are encouraged to bring a chair or blanket and settle in for an evening of music on the Museum grounds. Admission is free, and donations are welcomed to help continue the long-running concert series. Beer and wine will be available for purchase, and Porky Pete’s will be onsite with food options for dinner or snacks.

The Connecticut River Museum is located at 67 Main Street, Essex, CT 06426. In the event of inclement weather, updates will be posted on the Museum’s website. Please note that outside alcoholic beverages are not permitted, and photographs may be taken on Museum property for promotional purposes.
