The Mountain Goats with Craig Finn at Infinity Music Hall

The Mountain Goats return to Connecticut for a highly anticipated performance with special guest Craig Finn on Friday, August 8, 2025, at Infinity Music Hall in Norfolk. Doors open at 7 pm, and the show begins at 8 pm.

The evening will feature music from Jenny from Thebes, a bold sequel to the Mountain Goats’ beloved 2002 album All Hail West Texas. This new release follows the life of Jenny—a recurring character in the band’s discography—unfolding her story in a sweeping musical narrative. Blending elements of showtunes, drama, and rock, the album explores themes of care, resilience, and tragic inevitability, set against the backdrop of a crumbling West Texas town.

Recorded with Grammy-winning producer Trina Shoemaker at Tulsa’s historic Church Studio, Jenny from Thebes showcases the full creative range of the Mountain Goats’ current lineup—John Darnielle, Peter Hughes, Matt Douglas, and Jon Wurster. The album includes rich horn and string arrangements, guest appearances by Kathy Valentine (The Go-Go’s) and Matt Nathanson, and guitar work from Alicia Bognanno (Bully). This immersive musical experience is both a gift to longtime fans and an inviting entry point for new listeners.

Opening the evening is Craig Finn, best known as the frontman for The Hold Steady. Finn’s lyrical storytelling and rock sensibility make him a fitting complement to the Mountain Goats’ narrative-driven set.
