Screen Printing Workshop: Create Your Own Portrait – Second Session at the Mattatuck Museum

Explore the art of screen printing during the second session of the Screen Printing Workshop: Create Your Own Portrait on Saturday, August 8, 2026, from 1 pm to 3 pm at the Mattatuck Museum.

Presented in conjunction with the exhibition About Face: 250 Years of American Portraits, this free adult art workshop is led by instructors from the Creative Arts Workshop in New Haven. Participants will learn the fundamentals of screen printing by designing and creating their own stencils for a direct screen-printing process.

In addition to creating original prints on paper, attendees will personalize a canvas shopping bag by printing their design alongside the Mattatuck Museum logo. No previous experience is required, making this workshop ideal for beginners and anyone interested in exploring a new artistic technique.
