Science on Screen: Bringing Up Baby at Connecticut Science Center

Film and science come together during Science on Screen: Bringing Up Baby at the Connecticut Science Center on July 18, 2026, beginning at 3 pm. This special program combines an engaging discussion on paleontology with a screening of the classic comedy film Bringing Up Baby.

The afternoon begins with a presentation by Professor Bhart-Anjan Bhullar of Yale University’s Department of Earth & Planetary Sciences at 3 pm. A leading researcher and educator, Bhullar serves as Associate Professor of Earth & Planetary Sciences at Yale and Associate Curator of Vertebrate Paleontology and Vertebrate Zoology at the Yale Peabody Museum. His work focuses on major transitions in vertebrate evolution, and he will discuss Connecticut’s rich paleontological history and the discoveries that have helped shape our understanding of prehistoric life.

Following the presentation, guests can enjoy a screening of Bringing Up Baby at 3:30 pm. The beloved 1938 screwball comedy stars Cary Grant and Katharine Hepburn in a fast-paced adventure involving a paleontologist, a spirited heiress, and a dinosaur skeleton, making it a fitting companion to the afternoon’s scientific theme.

Science on Screen offers a unique opportunity to explore the connections between science, history, and popular culture while enjoying a classic film in a fun and educational setting.

The Connecticut Science Center is located at 250 Columbus Boulevard, Hartford, CT 06103. For more information, visit https://ctsciencecenter.org/event/science-screen-bringing-baby.
