River Tales: Little Fox in the Snow at Connecticut River Museum

Young learners and their caregivers can enjoy a cozy winter storytelling experience centered on wildlife along the Connecticut River during this River Tales program at the Connecticut River Museum. The session features a reading of Little Fox in the Snow by Jonathan London, a poetic story that introduces children to the behaviors of animals during winter through vivid language and impressionistic illustrations. The story follows a curious red fox as it explores its snowy surroundings, encountering other animals before returning safely home.
Following the reading, participants can take part in hands-on, take-home craft activities, including creating a three-dimensional paper fox inspired by the book, and enjoy a themed scavenger hunt that encourages exploration and imagination. The program is designed for children ages 4 and up and offers an engaging blend of storytelling, creativity, and learning about local wildlife and history.
River Tales: Little Fox in the Snow will take place on Saturday, January 3, 2025, with sessions held from 11 am to 12 pm and again from 1 pm to 2 pm at the Connecticut River Museum in Essex, Connecticut. Admission to the museum is not included with program tickets. The cost is $3 per learner for non-members, and the program is free for museum members. Check-in takes place at the front desk upon arrival.
