River Tales at Connecticut River Museum

Young learners can explore the sounds and rhythms of the Connecticut River Museum grounds during a special River Tales session with artist-in-residence Ben Cosgrove on Saturday, October 3, 2026.
The one-time session begins at 11 am and invites children and their caregivers to listen to the sounds around the museum grounds with Cosgrove and discover how those experiences can be translated into music. This month’s program includes only one River Tales session, rather than the usual schedule.
Following the session, participants can gather on the museum’s third floor for a concert with Cosgrove at 1 pm. He will perform original compositions inspired by the soundscapes of places he has visited. The concert is included with the purchase of a River Tales ticket.
River Tales takes place at the Connecticut River Museum, 67 Main Street, Essex, Connecticut 06426. The program runs from 11 am to 2 pm, with the concert beginning at 1 pm. Additional event information and tickets are available at Connecticut River Museum event page.
