More Than Words: How to Think About Writing in the Age of AI at The Mark Twain House & Museum

The Mark Twain House & Museum will host writer and educator John Warner for an in-person and livestreamed event on Friday, September 19, 2025, from 7 pm to 8 pm. Warner will discuss his new book, More Than Words: How to Think About Writing in the Age of AI, which challenges audiences to rethink their relationship with writing in a world where artificial intelligence can generate text with the push of a button.
Drawing on his years of experience as a teacher, author, and columnist, Warner argues that the value of writing extends far beyond mechanics, emphasizing creativity, critical thinking, and human connection. The conversation will be moderated by Erin Bartram, PhD, Associate Director for Education at The Mark Twain House & Museum.
Tickets to the event are free, with donations welcomed to support the museum’s mission of fostering creativity and critical thought. The book will be available for purchase through the museum store. Guests may attend in person at 351 Farmington Avenue, Hartford, Connecticut, or register to watch via livestream.
