Metropolitan Opera Live in HD – Il Barbiere di Siviglia at Ridgefield Playhouse

Rossini’s beloved comic opera Il Barbiere di Siviglia closes out the Metropolitan Opera’s 2024–25 Live in HD season with a live transmission on Saturday, May 31 at 12:55 pm at the Ridgefield Playhouse.
This effervescent production features mezzo-soprano Aigul Akhmetshina as the clever and spirited Rosina, joined by American tenor Jack Swanson in his Met debut as the charming Count Almaviva. Moldovan baritone Andrey Zhilikhovsky takes the stage as the cunning barber Figaro, with Peter Kálmán as Dr. Bartolo and Alexander Vinogradov as Don Basilio. Giacomo Sagripanti conducts Bartlett Sher’s high-spirited staging, filled with wit and energy.
