Docent Tour | “J. M. W. Turner: Romance and Reality” at Yale Center for British Art

Discover the groundbreaking work of one of Britain’s most influential artists during a docent-led tour of J. M. W. Turner: Romance and Reality on Saturday, May 31 at 3:00 pm at the Yale Center for British Art in New Haven.

This special exhibition highlights the Center’s extraordinary Turner collection—the largest outside the United Kingdom—including renowned oil paintings, watercolors, and prints. The tour offers insight into Turner’s innovative use of light, color, and atmosphere that revolutionized landscape painting.

Tours meet in the Entrance Court near the Visitor Services desk. All tours last approximately 45 minutes and offer a unique perspective from the museum’s knowledgeable volunteer docents.
