May Lecture Series: Project Limulus at Bridgeport Zoo

As part of the 2025 May Lecture Series, Sacred Heart University Biology Professor Jo-Marie Kasinak will present highlights from her research with Project Limulus, a long-running study of horseshoe crabs in Long Island Sound. For over 25 years, Project Limulus has investigated these remarkable “living fossils,” offering valuable insights into their behavior, biology, and the environmental factors affecting their populations in Connecticut waters.

This engaging talk will explore the significance of horseshoe crabs, their ecological role, and how community members can get involved in protecting them. Whether you’re a nature enthusiast or simply curious about coastal wildlife, this lecture is an opportunity to discover how you can become a horseshoe crab hero.

The lecture will take place on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at the Bridgeport Zoo, 1875 Noble Avenue, Bridgeport, Connecticut. For additional information, visit www.beardsleyzoo.org or contact the zoo directly.
