Explore the dramatic history and pressing future of flood events along the Connecticut River during Live from the Boathouse! Flooding, Past and Present, a compelling presentation by Frank Dellaripa, City Engineer for Hartford. This event will take place on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at 6:00 pm at the Connecticut River Museum.

Dellaripa will discuss the infamous 1936 flood that devastated Hartford and the surrounding region, when waters rose to 38 feet above normal and massive infrastructure damage occurred. Drawing from his extensive experience in city infrastructure and water management, he will examine the lessons learned from historic floods and the critical importance of modern flood control systems in the face of climate change.
