Lunch and Learn: Noises in the Night: Connecticut Cryptids at Mattatuck Museum

Discover the folklore behind Connecticut’s mysterious creatures during a Lunch and Learn program at the Mattatuck Museum on Wednesday, October 14, from noon to 1 pm. Author Patrick Scalisi and artist Valerie Ruby-Omen will discuss their book, Connecticut Cryptids, sharing research into stories of unusual creatures reported throughout the state.

The presentation will introduce the concepts of cryptozoology and cryptids, followed by a live storytelling session featuring local legends and folklore. An audience Q&A and book signing will follow, with books and prints available for purchase.

Guests can order lunch in advance from Sweet Bella @ The MATT or bring their own meal to enjoy during the program.

Admission is $10 for nonmembers and $5 for museum members. The program is sponsored by Christine and Eugene Shugrue.
