Kids Art Workshop: Taíno Symbols & Myths at Mattatuck Museum

Young artists are invited to explore the stories and symbols of the Taíno people during the Kids Art Workshop: Taíno Symbols & Myths at the Mattatuck Museum on Saturday, September 26, 2026, from 12 to 1 pm.

Led by Kasike Wakyua Rafael Feliciano-Roman, Executive Director of the Afro Caribbean Cultural Center, this free family-friendly workshop introduces children to Taíno myths, symbols, and the meanings behind ancient petroglyphs. After learning about these cultural traditions through storytelling, participants will create their own colorful Taíno-inspired petroglyph artwork using markers on small canvases to take home.
