Juneteenth in The Plaza

Celebrate community, culture, and creativity at Juneteenth in The Plaza, Downtown New Haven’s inaugural Juneteenth celebration, taking place on Friday, June 19, 2026, from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm at Temple Plaza in the heart of downtown New Haven.

This free, family-friendly event will bring together local artists, artisans, musicians, and community members for an evening honoring Juneteenth through music, art, food, and fellowship. Visitors can browse a marketplace featuring Black artists and makers, enjoy food and beverages from local vendors, and experience a variety of activities throughout the evening.

Entertainment will include live music ranging from jazz performances to line dancing, creating a festive atmosphere for guests of all ages. Additional attractions include lawn games, flash tattoos, and opportunities to connect with local businesses and creatives while celebrating the significance of Juneteenth.

The event will be held at Temple Plaza, located at 160 Temple Street, New Haven, CT 06510. Leashed pets are welcome.

Admission is free, with food, beverages, artwork, and merchandise available for purchase.
