French Canadian Jam at Connecticut Museum of Culture and History

Traditional music enthusiasts can enjoy the sounds of French Canadian folk tunes during the monthly French Canadian Jam at the Connecticut Museum of Culture and History in Hartford. These informal jam sessions are held on select Saturday afternoons from 2:30 to 4:30 pm, coinciding with the museum’s First Free Weekends.
Guests are welcome to drop in to listen or participate. Musicians interested in joining the jam are encouraged to contact organizer Joe Lavariere at joesondra@juno.com in advance. The environment is welcoming to new players and listeners alike, making it an ideal opportunity to experience or explore this vibrant musical tradition.
Upcoming 2025 jam dates include September 6, October 4, November 1, December 6, and January 3. Admission to the museum and the jam is free on First Free Weekends.
