Family Days at the Museum at Fairfield University Art Museum

Creative family activities inspired by art and history will take place on Saturday, March 28 and Saturday, April 25, 2026 at the Fairfield University Art Museum, 1073 North Benson Road, Fairfield, CT 06824. Each event includes two sessions, from 12:30 pm to 2 pm and from 2:30 pm to 4 pm.

Designed for children ages 4 to 10, Family Days feature hands-on arts and crafts activities created and led by Museum Educator Elizabeth Vienneau. The programs are inspired by the exhibition For Which It Stands…, encouraging young visitors and their families to explore themes of identity, creativity, and community through interactive projects.

On March 28, the program Stitching Stories: Design Your Family Flag will take place in the Bellarmine Hall Galleries’ Museum Classroom. Participants will be invited to celebrate their family heritage by designing and creating a personal flag that reflects their background and identity.

The April 25 event, Bits & Pieces, Stars & Stripes: Reimagined Flags from Recycled Finds, will be held in the lobby of the Regina A. Quick Center for the Arts. Participants are encouraged to bring their own materials and will also be able to choose from a variety of recycled items—including fabrics, single-use plastics, and egg cartons—to create a three-dimensional flag assemblage inspired by contemporary artworks in the exhibition.
