Commemorate the Battle of Ridgefield at Keeler Tavern Museum & History Center

April 25 @ 11:00 am - 4:00 pm
Commemorate the Battle of Ridgefield at Keeler Tavern Museum & History Center

A day of living history and immersive storytelling takes place on April 25, 2026 from 11 am to 4 pm along Main Street and at the Keeler Tavern Museum & History Center (KTM&HC), 152 Main Street, Ridgefield, CT 06877.

In partnership with the Ridgefield Historical Society, this free community event marks the 249th anniversary of the Battle of Ridgefield with engaging tours, historical interpretation, and interactive experiences.

Throughout the day, visitors can join 30-minute “War at Home” tours led by museum interpreters at KTM&HC, beginning every half hour from 11:30 am through 3 pm. These tours explore the personal stories of Ridgefield residents during the Revolutionary War, including the impact of the battle on families and the community. Guests will also see the preserved British cannonball still embedded in the building—an enduring artifact from the 1777 battle.

The experience pairs with the Ridgefield Historical Society’s walking tours, offered at 10:30 am, 11 am, 11:30 am, and 12 pm. This one-mile, one-hour “living history” tour brings the past to life with costumed actors portraying figures such as Benedict Arnold, General Tryon, and Anna Stebbins at various stops along Main Street.

Admission to KTM&HC and its tours is free, and no registration is required. Walking tours are ticketed separately through the Ridgefield Historical Society.
