
Docent Tour: The Architecture of the YCBA at Yale Center for British Art

Discover the architectural brilliance of the Yale Center for British Art with a docent-led tour highlighting the museum’s iconic building designed by renowned modernist architect Louis I. Kahn (1901–1974). This in-depth experience offers visitors a chance to learn about the thoughtful design, innovative use of materials, and distinctive spatial features that make the building a landmark in modern architecture.
Tours are led by the Center’s knowledgeable volunteer museum educators, who share unique perspectives and invite engaging dialogue about the building and its place in art and architectural history. Each tour lasts approximately 45 minutes and begins in the Entrance Court near the Visitor Services desk.
