Docent Tour: J. M. W. Turner: Romance and Reality at Yale Center for British Art

The Yale Center for British Art in New Haven invites guests to explore the groundbreaking work of J. M. W. Turner during a docent-led tour of the special exhibition Romance and Reality. This exhibition showcases the Center’s renowned collection of Turner’s work—the most extensive outside the United Kingdom—including iconic oil paintings, watercolors, and prints.

The 45-minute tour begins at 2:00 pm on Thursday, June 5, 2025, and offers visitors a chance to delve into Turner’s bold use of light, color, and atmosphere that redefined landscape painting. Led by trained museum docents, the tour provides insight into the artist’s innovative techniques and his enduring influence on the art world.
