Explore the artistic brilliance of J. M. W. Turner during a docent-led tour of J. M. W. Turner: Romance and Reality on Thursday, May 15 at 2:00 pm at the Yale Center for British Art in New Haven, Connecticut.
This special exhibition highlights the museum’s extraordinary collection of Turner’s work—the most extensive outside the United Kingdom. Featuring iconic oil paintings, watercolors, and prints, the exhibition showcases Turner’s pioneering use of light, color, and atmosphere, offering a deeper understanding of how he transformed landscape painting.
Docent-led tours meet in the Entrance Court by the Visitor Services desk and last approximately 45 minutes. Docents share unique perspectives and help spark engaging conversations about the collection and the building’s design by architect Louis I. Kahn.
