Docent Tour: Hew Locke at Yale Center for British Art

This docent-led tour offers an insightful look into the work of artist Hew Locke, whose sculptures, photographs, and mixed-media pieces explore themes of identity, migration, and the lasting influence of empire. Guests will encounter three decades of Locke’s artistic practice, which reinterprets historical symbols and challenges the narratives embedded within them. The tour provides an opportunity to understand how Locke engages with the legacies of colonialism and transforms familiar iconography into thought-provoking visual commentary.

The tour takes place on December 14, 2025, from 1:00 to 1:45 pm. Participants will meet in the Entrance Court near the Visitor Services desk.
