Create Community: Turner’s Vision with Watercolor at Yale Center for British Art

Explore the world through the eyes of J. M. W. Turner in a three-part watercolor workshop at the Yale Center for British Art in New Haven. Create Community: Turner’s Vision with Watercolor invites adults of all skill levels to delve into the artist’s process and perspective by studying his evocative landscapes featured in the exhibition J. M. W. Turner: Romance and Reality.

Participants will observe Turner’s watercolors in the galleries and create their own works using watercolor techniques that emphasize atmosphere, movement, and light. The sessions will encourage new ways of seeing and capturing the world around us.

The workshop series will be held on Thursdays—May 15, May 22, and June 12—from 6 to 7:30 pm. All materials are provided, and space is limited to 12 participants. Registration is required.

The Yale Center for British Art is located at 1080 Chapel Street, New Haven, CT 06510.
