Cocktails & Conversations: The Language of Art: Expression, Healing & Connection at Mattatuck Museum

Explore the connection between art, mental health, and emotional well-being during Cocktails & Conversations at the Mattatuck Museum on Thursday, November 5, from 5:30 to 7 pm. The discussion will feature Rebecca McNamara, chief curator at the Mattatuck Museum, alongside art therapists Briana Benn Mirandi and Valerie Drake of Art and Soul Art Therapy in Madison.
Inspired by the exhibition Franne Davids and the World She Painted, the panel will examine how art can communicate emotions, experiences, and ideas that words sometimes cannot express. Attendees will learn about the benefits of art therapy and how creative expression can support healing, encourage self-understanding, and strengthen connections with others.
Admission is $15 for adults, $10 for sober adults, and $10 for museum members.
