Presented by Michelle Anne Bangash, Valerie Vargas, and Jorge Estevez of the Higuayagua Taíno of the Caribbean, this engaging program examines present-day issues affecting Taíno communities. Topics include the revitalization of the Taíno language, the evolving roles of women within Taíno communities, and efforts to incorporate Indigenous perspectives on the history of conquest and encounter in the Caribbean. The discussion offers participants an opportunity to gain a broader understanding of the history and cultures of the Americas.

Admission is $15 for adults, $10 for sober adult tickets, and $10 for museum members.
