Classic Car Culture & History-Making James Melton at Stepping Stones Museum

The Lockwood-Mathews Mansion Museum will present a talk by automotive historian John J. O’Leary IV on Sunday, May 18, 2025, from 2 pm to 4 pm at the Stepping Stones Museum for Children’s Multimedia Gallery in Norwalk. The program, titled “Classic Car Culture & History-Making James Melton,” will explore the life and legacy of renowned entertainer and car collector James Melton and examine the broader history of classic car culture in America.

Guests will learn about Melton’s influence on early 20th-century automotive enthusiasm and his contributions to the preservation of historic vehicles. O’Leary’s engaging presentation will feature vintage images and fascinating anecdotes from this unique intersection of American entertainment and automobile history.
