Bridging The Gaps at Mark Twain House & Museum

June 7 @ 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm
Bridging The Gaps at Mark Twain House & Museum

Poets from across Connecticut will gather for an afternoon of storytelling and spoken word during Bridging The Gaps at the Mark Twain House & Museum on June 7 from 3 pm to 5 pm. The special reading explores how different generations experience the world through poetry that reflects themes of childhood, caregiving, joy, change, and personal growth.

Hosted by Victoria Nordlund and Karen Warinsky, the event features readings from Sean F. Forbes, Iris Hida, Joyce Hida, Emily Hockaday, Tom Lagasse, Steven Straight, Elizabeth Thomas, and T’challa Williams. Each poet represents a different decade, creating a multigenerational conversation through language, memory, and lived experience.

Proceeds from the event will support the Nook Farm Writers Collaborative at The Mark Twain House & Museum, an intensive six-week summer writing program for Connecticut teens. Attendees will also have the opportunity to learn more about the program’s literary journal, Journey 75.

The Mark Twain House & Museum is located at 351 Farmington Avenue, Hartford, CT 06105. Guests may choose their own ticket price at $5, $10, $25, or free admission.
