Annual Old Lyme Midsummer Festival Schedule

The annual Old Lyme Midsummer Festival will be held on Saturday, July 28 from 9 am to 4 pm at the Lyme Academy College of Fine Arts. Stroll the campus and make sure to stop at the art store. Visit the tent and studios to view and purchase art by our current BFA students and alumni. Demonstrations will be held throughout the day and the popular Open Figure Drawing on the front lawn from 12 – 3 (free and open to all).

Don’t miss the Cities of Peace Exhibition in our Chauncey Stillman Gallery honoring the history and culture of various cities that have experienced major conflict and trauma, including Baghdad, Beijing, Hiroshima, Jerusalem, Lhasa, Monrovia, New York, and Yerevan. Lyme Academy student artwork will also be displayed in the Sill House Gallery.

If you have never visited the campus, it’s a great day to see the beautiful campus and the work of talented students and alumni.

Friday, July 27 Old Lyme Midsummer Festival Events:

5-7pm: Open House at the Florence Griswold Museum

5-7pm: Museum Shop Super Sale

7pm-9pm: Midsummer Concert: Otis and the Hurricanes. Pack a picnic or enjoy dinner from the food trucks (5pm-9pm). Find a spot on the grassy banks of the Lieutenant River to enjoy this high-energy concert.

Saturday, July 28 Old Lyme Midsummer Festival Events:

8am: Midsummer Run 5K & Walk: This run begins behind 59 Lyme Street and winds through the beautiful streets of the village

9am-2pm: Classic Car Show at the Bee & Thistle Inn. A full lawn of antique, exotic and hot rod vehicles. Attendees can judge entrants for $5 at the gate. Trophies awarded after 1pm. Auto-related vendors will be on hand, and the Lions will be grilling up lunch itemsbeginning at 10:30am.

9am-3pm: Annual Midsummer Sale at Old Lyme-Phoebe Griffin Noyes Library. The Friends of the Library will sell great “gently loved” beach reads on the Library lawn, and hold a half-priced sale inside the BookCellar. The Library Community Room will be the place to find vintage posters, framed art and the popular map prints for sale.

9am-3pm: Bohemian Street Fair and Food Truck Court at Florence Griswold Museum

10:30am-11:15am: Dog Show: The Parading Paws Dog Show is back and the judges will be looking for Best Smile, Best Costume, and more at Florence Griswold Museum

11am-3pm: Music and Food Under the Tent: Enjoy lunch off the barbeque while tapping your toes to returning funk band Mass-Conn-Fusion at Old Lyme Inn

11:30am and 1:30pm: Magic Show at Florence Griswold Museum

12pm-5pm: LYMESTOCK Concert at Florence Griswold Museum. Bring a chair or blanket to the Museum lawn on the river and listen to
an afternoon lineup of young adult musicians. With both New England regional award winners and rising local talent, the afternoon will be
filled with folk, blues, jazz, singer/songwriter, and acoustic rock. Lineup available on festival website

10am-4pm: Indoor Art Sale at Lyme Art Association. Beautiful art with affordable prices by Member Artists. The sale continues Sunday, 10am to 4pm
