19th Century Vintage Base Ball at Wethersfield Cove Park

A historic take on America’s favorite pastime will be on display on May 16, 2026 at 11 am at Wethersfield Cove Park, 60 State Street, Wethersfield, CT 06109.

This vintage base ball event features the Red Onions hosting the Woodstock Hilltoppers for a doubleheader played using 19th-century rules, including underhand pitching and period-style gameplay. The experience offers a glimpse into how the game was originally played, combining sport, history, and entertainment in a scenic outdoor setting along the Cove.

Spectators can enjoy a relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere while watching players bring early baseball traditions to life. The event is part of the Red Onion Base Ball Club’s 2026 season, which includes matchups across Connecticut and beyond.
