Colonial Homes of Westport and Weston: A Tour of Connecticut Historic Interiors in Westport and Weston

A one-day bus tour exploring colonial-era architecture in Westport and Weston will take place on Sunday, May 3, 2026, with departures at 9 am and 2 pm. The guided tour offers a unique opportunity to step inside several historic homes while viewing additional properties along the route from the comfort of a charter bus.

Originally part of the first European settlement in Fairfield County in 1639, the neighboring towns of Westport and Weston retain many reminders of Connecticut’s colonial past. The tour highlights a variety of historic architectural styles, including vernacular farmhouses, Georgian and Federal homes, and the classic Cape Cod style, while sharing stories of the people and events that shaped these communities.

Interior stops include historic Weston farmhouses and a remarkable 18th-century home that was nearly destroyed during wartime but still preserves original Delft Blue tiles. The tour will also include a visit to the oldest home in Westport, offering insight into early colonial life and craftsmanship. Additional homes and historic sites will be discussed during the bus tour.

Some interior stops are private homes, and capacity is limited. The tour is offered for one day only.
