The Real McCoy Rum Punch Recipe
Adapted from the cocktail recipe book Cocktails for a Crowd by Kara Newman
Ingredients:
- One 750-ml bottle of The Real McCoy 5-year-aged rum
- 28 oz. (3 ½ cups) hot water
- 1 cup Demerara sugar
- 12 oz. (1 ½ cups) cognac
- 12 oz. (1 ½ cups) peach brandy
- 12 oz. (1 ½ cups) freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 1 ice block
- Garnish: Lemon wheels and star anise
Directions:
In a pitcher that holds at least 13 cups, combine the hot water and sugar and stir until the sugar is dissolved. Stir in Real McCoy 5-year-aged rum, cognac, peach brandy and lemon juice. Cover and refrigerate for at least 3 hours, until thoroughly chilled.
To serve, pour the punch into a punch bowl and add ice. Garnish with lemon wheels and star anise. Ladle into punch glasses or teacups.
