When it’s hot outside nothing quite quenches the thirst like watermelon. Try this refreshing Watermelon Spritzer drink recipe with or without alcohol. When you add Tequila we like to call them Watermelon Margaritas.
Serve this drink in a Mason jar with a striped paper straw for a fun effect. Want something fun to try with the watermelon? Cut watermelon slices into triangle wedges. Use a paring knife and cut a small section out of the rind and insert a Popsicle stick. Now you can easily hold the watermelon when eating it. This also makes a great snack for kids or to serve for a child’s birthday or pool party.
- 4 cups seedless watermelon, cut into 1-1/2 inch cubes
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup fresh lime juice
- fresh blueberries
- mint sprigs for garnish
- lime wedges for garnish
Combine watermelon cubes, sugar, 1/2 cup water and lime juice in a blender and blend until smooth.
Transfer to a pitcher and add 3 or 4 blueberries to each glass. Garnish with mint and lime wedges.
To make super easy watermelon margaritas: Add a splash of tequila and a little triple sec to each glass.
