Do you like watching sports, eating good food, and drinking amazing beverages? If yes, then Bill Rizzuto and his restaurant group’s latest endeavor, Rizzuto’s, Restaurant-Bar-Sports is the place to go. At Rizzutos in Stamford they have stepped outside the boundary of their renowned Italian restaurants located throughout Connecticut to create a great place to eat and drink your way through a football game or any game that happens to be on TV.
Rizzuto’s Restaurant, Bar and Sports Grill is located on the Stamford /Greenwich border at 1980 West Main Street.
A cozy pub atmosphere surrounds you as you watch any of the fifteen large screen televisions hanging on the walls throughout the bi-level establishment. The main floor houses the bar and dining area surrounding the open kitchen, while the second floor has additional dining and two poker tables, where one can play a friendly round of cards. Also on the second floor is a private dining area that holds up to 20 individuals and can be reserved for private game watching parties.
While there, take part in Rizzuto’s NFL pool, with weekly prizes. Sign up each week or for the entire season. Rizzuto’s is the only Stamford location for World Tavern Poker, America’s #1 Bar Poker League. It’s free to play and cardholders can win some great prizes.
“We’re excited to offer our customers an exciting and comfortable place to hang back, bring the family, meet with friends and watch the game while enjoying some great food and drinks, all at a real value,” says Owner Bill Rizzuto, “They’ve been confusing my name with Phil Rizzuto for all these years – now look at me! I’m running a sports bar!”
Although the look and feel is that of a “pub”, the food offered on their Rizzuto’s Tailgate Menu is not your typical “pub grub”. That menu is available during any NFL game. Think of it as the other Rizzuto’s restaurants cuisine gone causal and sporty. Menu items such as the kicked-upped Smokey Chipotle Bacon Mac ‘n Cheese, spicy Slow-Roasted Baby Back Ribs, fiery Hot Cherry Pepper Wings, Stone Oven Baked Nachos, and ‘Sunday Morning’ Pizza with two sunny side eggs, bacon, potatoes, onions, peppers, cheddar and mozzarella cheeses, to name a few. “Sliders” come five different ways: Classic Cheddar, Italian Sausage, Buffalo Chicken, Pulled BBQ Pork, or Meatball and Mozzarella.
Fear not fans of Rizzuto’s stone-oven fired pizza, pasta and Italian specialties, as these can still be enjoyed at Rizzuto’s, Restaurant-Bar-Sports alongside the “over-the-top” classic American sports bar cuisine. Be sure to try the Buffalo Chicken pizza and the slightly sweet Rizzuto’s Fig Barbeque wings. For those looking for a “lighter” choice, although not on the tailgate menu, try the delightful Southwest Salad or Gorgonzola Chopped Salad.
To accompany the delicious food on the Tailgate Menu there is lots of BEER. You can even get “Beer by the bucket“, five beers come in a tin bucket full of ice, choose from Narragansett Lager, Bud Light, or old school PBR. Also available are several wonderful craft beers, either on draft or in the bottle. The Tailgate Menu includes “Game Day Cocktails” such as the ‘Spicy Sunday Morning Bloody’, Bloody Stella, Mimosa and Sunsplash, all with half price refills. In the mood for a milkshake, then try one of their spiked shakes.
Rizuto’s, Restaurant-Bar-Sports is a great place to place to hold your pre-game, during and post-game celebrations as well as team gatherings. They are opened Monday through Wednesday from 11:30 am to 9:30pm, Thursday through Saturday from 11:30 am to 10:00 pm, and Sunday from 11:30 am to 9:00 pm.
