SUMMARY:Great Wilton Pumpkin Fest at Wilton Historical Society
DESCRIPTION:The 6th Annual Great Wilton Pumpkin Fest returns Saturday\, October 17\, from 1 to 3 pm at the Wilton Historical Society for an afternoon of autumn activities and pumpkin-themed fun for all ages. Visitors can watch docents demonstrate open-hearth cooking and blacksmithing\, try fall-themed lawn games\, and explore the museum campus with a pumpkin scavenger hunt. Complimentary cider and donuts will also be available. \nGuests can pick out a pumpkin to take home at the Wilton Kiwanis Pumpkin Patch on the Society’s front lawn\, then decorate it at the pumpkin decorating station. The Kiwanis will also offer small gourds and mums for sale to add to seasonal displays. \nThe festival is generously supported by ASML. Admission is $5 per person and free for Wilton Historical Society members. Tickets can be purchased in advance for quicker check-in or at the door on the day of the event. \nThe event takes place at Wilton Historical Society\, 224 Danbury Road\, Wilton\, CT.

SUMMARY:Lambert Corners Walking Tour at Wilton Historical Society
DESCRIPTION:Explore Wilton’s architectural and cultural history on a guided walking tour of Lambert Corner with Wilton Historical Society Director Nick Foster on Sunday\, October 18\, from 10:30 to 11:30 am. The hour-long tour visits the Society’s collection of preserved historic buildings\, offering a look at how structures from a traditional New England rural community have been preserved and adapted for contemporary use. \nHighlights include Lambert House\, formerly known as Lilacstead and built on the site around 1726\, along with the Lambert Cottage\, Kent District School\, Hurlbutt Street Country Store and Post Office\, Wilton Railroad Station\, Davenport Barn\, Cannon Family General Store\, an 18th-century Cannon Family Corn Crib\, and the George Davenport Greek Revival Privy. The buildings were relocated to the original Lambert homestead near the intersection of Routes 7 and 33 over the past 40 years. Together\, they form Wilton’s Historic District #1. \nThe tour group will depart from the porch of the Historical Christmas Barn. Complimentary cider and treats will be served\, and comfortable walking attire is recommended. \nSpace is limited\, with only two tickets remaining according to the event announcement.
