SUMMARY:Book Talk: The Battle of Ridgefield at Wilton Historical Society
DESCRIPTION:Local Revolutionary War history comes into focus during a book talk on Saturday\, March 28\, 2026\, from 2 pm to 3 pm at the Wilton Historical Society\, 224 Danbury Road\, Wilton\, CT 06897. \nHistorian and author Keith Marshall Jones III will discuss his book The Battle of Ridgefield\, which explores the largest inland battle fought in Connecticut during the American Revolutionary War. SUMMARY:Etuaptmumk Two-Eyed Seeing Lecture at Wilton Historical Society
DESCRIPTION:An exploration of Indigenous knowledge and cross-cultural understanding takes place on Saturday\, March 14 from 12 pm to 3:30 pm at the Wilton Historical Society\, 224 Danbury Road\, Wilton\, CT 06897. \nTitled Etuaptmumk Two-Eyed Seeing\, the program centers on the Mi’kmaw concept of “Two-Eyed Seeing\,” which encourages learning to view the world through both the strengths of Indigenous knowledge and the strengths of Western knowledge. Kascak serves as the Educational Outreach Ambassador for The Institute for American Indian Studies Museum and Research Center in Washington\, Connecticut\, where she develops and teaches programs sharing the 12\,000-year history of Quinnetukut’s Indigenous Peoples. Through storytelling and dialogue\, she will examine how individuals can incorporate the principles of Two-Eyed Seeing into everyday life. \nAdmission is free for Wilton Historical Society members and $10 per person for non-members. Registration is required at https://wiltonhistorical.org/events/event/etuaptmunk-two-eyed-seeing/. This program is made possible through funding provided by the Elizabeth Raymond Ambler Trust.
