SUMMARY:Songbook at Welte Auditorium – Central Connecticut State University
DESCRIPTION:Central Connecticut State University’s Dance Education Program\, in collaboration with Dancentral\, presents Songbook\, a one-show-only dance performance on Sunday\, April 13\, 2025\, at 3:00 p.m. at Welte Auditorium on the university’s main campus in New Britain. Admission is free\, with donations accepted to support CCSU dance program scholars. The event will also be livestreamed at ccsu.edu/dance. \nSongbook is a dynamic fusion of music and movement\, blending the timeless charm of the Great American Songbook with the upbeat energy of contemporary pop hits. Audiences can expect a wide range of choreographic styles—from classical ballet to cutting-edge street dance—set to music that spans generations. \nThe performance features CCSU dance faculty and scholars alongside notable professional guest companies such as Jennifer Muller/The Works and Island Reflections Dance Theatre. Guest choreographers include Garet Wierdsma\, Emily Bufferd\, and Christine Sessa.
