DESCRIPTION:Pianist Conor Hanick presents a rare performance of Book of Sounds (Das Buch der Klänge) by German composer Hans Otte at The Dome at Yale Schwarzman Center on Wednesday\, March 26\, 2025\, from 7:30 pm to 9 pm. This 12-movement minimalist solo piano work\, composed between 1979 and 1982\, explores the full range of the piano’s dynamics\, timbre\, and resonance in a deeply meditative and spiritual juxtaposition of sound and silence. \nHanick\, described by The New York Times as one of his generation’s most inquisitive interpreters\, brings this rarely performed work to life in an intimate setting that highlights the acoustics of The Dome. \nThis free event is open to the public and takes place at The Dome at Yale Schwarzman Center\, 168 Grove Street\, New Haven\, CT 06511.
