DESCRIPTION:The Glebe House Museum & Garden introduces Haunted Hollow Tours on Saturday\, October 24\, offering a Halloween-season journey through Woodbury’s history\, folklore\, and historic burial grounds. Sponsored by Newtown Savings Bank\, the event brings the stories of former residents to life through guided encounters along Hollow Road\, Doolittle Hill\, and Main Street\, including a visit to Old South Cemetery. \nThe experience features six daylight tours highlighting local architecture\, history\, and the cemetery\, followed by six evening tours with a more eerie atmosphere. Visitors may encounter characters such as the Leatherman\, the well-known wanderer who traveled throughout western Connecticut in the late 1800s\, and Dr. Samuel Orton\, a physician who practiced in the area more than 250 years ago. \nTours depart from the museum grounds every 15 minutes beginning at 4 pm. Daylight tours run from 4 to 5:45 pm\, while evening tours take place from 6 to 7:15 pm. Evening tours are restricted to guests ages 13 and older\, and the experience is not recommended for children 12 and under. A rain date is scheduled for Sunday\, October 25. \nThe approximately 45-minute walking experience includes sidewalks\, uneven ground\, and hills. Comfortable shoes\, weather-appropriate clothing\, and a flashlight are recommended. Guests can also arrange tarot readings with Ana M. in the Glebe House Cottage. Readings are valued at $30\, with tips accepted and 50 percent of proceeds benefiting the museum. Cash is preferred\, and advance reservations are recommended. \nTickets cost $15 for adults and guests ages 13 and older\, $10 for children ages 6–12\, and are free for children ages 5 and under.
