DESCRIPTION:New Haven welcomes the Lunar New Year with Lunarfest 2026\, the state’s largest Lunar New Year celebration\, presented by the Yale-China Association. Celebrating the Year of the Horse\, the festival highlights cross-cultural exchange through a full day of performances\, demonstrations\, and community activities. Festivities begin with a lively morning parade featuring a traditional lion dance\, Chinese dance performances\, martial arts demonstrations\, and remarks from local community leaders\, setting the tone for a day rooted in cultural tradition and shared celebration. \nLunarfest takes place on Saturday\, February 21\, 2026\, from 10:00 am to 4:30 pm. The parade travels along Whitney Avenue between Grove Street and Trumbull Street\, with additional free activities hosted at multiple locations throughout New Haven.
