New Craft Brewery & Taproom Looks to Open in Rocky Hill, CT by the end of December. Still Hill Brewery will open in 2015 as a production brewery with a comfortable Taproom to relax, buy a pint, get a growler filled or take a tour of the brewhouse. Still Hill Brewery of Rocky Hill, CT announced that it is raising funds via a rewards crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter to finish the buildout of their Taproom. Still Hill hopes to raise $15,000 on Kickstarter to be able to create a comfortable environment for craft beer lovers to come and try the beer and relax with friends. Opening of the Taproom is expected by the end of 2015.
Scott Barbanel, the head brewer and founder of Still Hill Brewery started home brewing 7 years ago. He is now realizing his dream by opening a production brewery in Rocky Hill, CT. “It’s been an odyssey from using my first homebrewers kit I got from my kids on Father’s Day 7 years ago, to finding the perfect location in Rocky Hill, to raising funds through Kickstarter to complete the taproom,” says Barbanel.
Barbanel expressed, “We could use your help. We have made it half way with our Kickstarter pledges but need your help to reach our goal so we can get funded. We have very cool rewards, with the most popular by far being the “Founders Mug”. Plus all rewards are cumulative. We’d love for you to become part of Still Hill Brewery.” The money would be used for building the bar, glassware, floor refinishing, lighting, painting, barstools, seating, tables, etc.
Still Hill Brewery will primarily serve as a production brewery with a 10 barrel system, and is located at 1275 Cromwell Avenue in the Shunpike Business Center in Rocky Hill, CT. The Taproom will be open on Friday evenings and Saturday afternoons to start with, which will be the perfect place to try the beers Barbanel will craft. They are looking for funds to build out the taproom so that it will become a place local beer lovers will want to visit again and again.
Still Hill Brewery has obtained its Federal permit and is currently waiting to receive a State permit. Once the permit is in hand, they will be able to start use of their equipment currently in the brewhouse. Barbanel says it will take approximately 3 weeks to create the beer for distribution. Still Hill will offer the following beers on tap year round: Still Hill IPA, Red Storm Ryesing Amber Ale, and Still Hill APA (American Pale Ale) with plans to add interesting seasonal craft beers throughout the year.
