Chicago-based SomPriya Fine Spirits is proud to announce its premiere product SomruS, The Original Indian Cream Liqueur launches this month in Connecticut, distributed exclusively through Connecticut Distributors Inc. (CDI). Since its rollout on September 21, 2014, SomruS has sold 1,100 cases thus far across Illinois, New Jersey, New York and Massachusetts in less than 26 weeks. Others agree as noted by the New York Spirits International Competition who gave SomruS the title of “Cream Liqueur of the Year” for 2014, and the China Wine & Spirits Awards (CWSA) 2015, the biggest and most prestigious award competition in Hong Kong & China, who awarded the brand a Gold Medal.
We had the chance to taste test SomruS at Thali Indian Restaurant in New Haven. It is a sweet cream liqueur that pairs well with spicy, Indian foods.

SomruS Cocktail Recipes:
- 2oz Somrus
- 1oz Chambord
- ¾ oz Green Chartreuse
Shake vigorously with ice. Serve in cocktail glass.
- 2oz SomruS
- 2/3 oz Casamigos Reposado
Served over ice.
- 1oz SomruS
- 3oz Chai Tea
- 2 dashes rose water, optional
Boil water. Brew black tea for 3-5 minutes. Heat milk to just below boiling. Strain out tea leaves and add tea to serving utensil. Add SomruS, rose water and then serve in a handled punch cup.
