Foodies and lovers of fine wine and spirits are invited to gather for the second annual Savor – A celebration of Wine, Food & Spirits, presented by Foxwoods® Resort Casino. Savor kicks off on Friday evening April 8th with its Grand Tasting and continues on Saturday with a second session. This two-day celebration features samplings of signature dishes of Connecticut’s leading chefs alongside a seemingly endless variety of highly sought-after wine, the world’s finest craft beers and superior spirits – all are included in the single cost of admission. Stroll through the impressive spread or relax in a series of spirit lounges to fully savor the experience. Plus, Robert Irvine, host of Restaurant: Impossible on Food Network will return to Savor as host chef for the second year. Chef Irvine will be joined by top chefs from across the country to demonstrate their signature dishes for a live audience on the Savor Demonstration Stage.
On Saturday evening April 9th, guests will have the opportunity to dress up for the Savor in Style Charity Gala. From celebrity chefs to prominent regional chefs and widely known winemakers, this grand walk-around affair is where luxurious style meets substance. Ahi Tuna au Poivre Sauce Recipe from Chef Robert Irvine
Yields 8 portions
- 1 Shallots, minced
- 1 teaspoon Butter
- 1 Tablespoon Green Peppercorn in Brine
- 1 Bay Leaf
- 1/4 cup Brandy
- 1/2 cup Heavy Cream
- 2 cups Demi Glace
- Salt to taste
- 1 teaspoon Lemon Juice
Saute shallot, green peppercorns and bay leaf in butter over medium heat for 1 minute. Deglaze with brandy and add demi glace and heavy cream. Reduce by 1/3 and season with salt and add lemon juice.

Savor the Legends of Pappy Van Winkle, Robert Irvine, and Plan b Burger bar at this Kentucky-style soirée. Guests will have the unique opportunity to taste all five years of Pappy, aged from 10 to 23 years. Presented by Plan b, Savor the Legends kicks off the Savor weekend with a delicious Kentucky-inspired menu, bourbon cocktails and the chance to meet Robert Irvine.
